WHEN DO YOU VISIT AN UROLOGIST AND WHAT DOES THE EXAM LOOK LIKE

Urologist exam is there for early detection of possible medical conditions such as testicle cancer, prostate cancer, prostate enlargement etc. When diagnosed timely, most of these conditions are easily treated. Remember the importance of prevention.

Before the exam, the urologist will most likely ask you some questions. General questions may regard the reason that you asked for an exam, your family history of medical conditions, whether or not you feel some issues in your kidneys or prostate etc. Try to overcome the discomfort in the moments when you should remove your clothes and sit on the bed. Remember that you are there for your own good and that the exam is done in order for you to get the information on your current health status.

If you come only for a check-up, the urologist will probably only do a routine examination of your prostate, testicles and penis. Sometimes the exam can be a little uncomfortable, but only for a short time. If the urologist diagnoses some issues, they will recommend further examination or some therapy.
